Christmas is over - Now What?

Updated: Feb 12

I don't know about you, but I always find the time of year between Christmas and New Years Eve feels like a bit of a waiting game. Waiting in anticipation.....

Sandra Carmichael Interiors helps many clients bring their vision to life and create a home or business that exceeds out clients expectations. Our track record and reputation for completely transforming and renovating full homes, single rooms or businesses spaces is unrivalled.
Looking ahead to 2024 and the dream you have for your home

There has been the excitement leading up to Christmas. On Christmas Day, my house is usually full to the rafters with family, friends, gifts, dogs and food. There is never place to set anything down and if you find a spot, the thing you set down is never in the same place when you return. On a normal day, my home feels relatively spacious, but with the addition of the Christmas tree taking up space and all the family and friends that decent on my home over this time of year, somehow my home begins to feel as though it has no space to move at all. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore having everyone here however, I find my mind working overtime on how I can improve my home in order to accommodate everyone and entertain seamlessly next year. Don't you?

Suddenly the house feels empty - Now What?

The tree with twinkling lights is still up along with the garlands and wreaths, the immediate family are still home and so are the dogs of course, but Christmas Day has come and gone and suddenly the energy seems to have been taken down a notch. What do you do with the Christmas decorations? Do you use the help you have to take them down now? Should you leave them up until at least the first day of the New Year? But aren't they pointless now?

You also have time! Time... That commodity that is always so sparse at any other time of the year. But what on earth do you do with it over the next few days as you wait for New Years Eve? It feels unnatural not to have a To Do List as long as your arm.

I happen to love this time of year, I relish the quiet company in my home, I feel like it gives me headspace to think to the year ahead and reflect on what I should do differently from the year gone by in both my personal life and for my small business.

2023 has been an unbelievable year for me with a number of milestones personally and business wise. On a personal note, I got in engaged in May but from a business perspective Sandra Carmichael Interiors was properly established complete with a Studio and a team!

We would love to help you redesign your home, making it a space that is a sanctuary that you never want to leave or indeed assisting you with redesigning your business' interiors to help your business excel in 2024.

Every single one of us need home improvements from time to time and I will be doing exactly that to my own home in 2024 when I have some time between client projects. Home is such an important part of all of our lives and I would personally forgo buying that jumper or new items for my wardrobe which I don't need and instead use that money to make my home as comfortable, cosy and welcoming as possible for me, my family and every one that visits. I urge you to do the same - you simply will not regret it!
